Watchdog Early Learning and Development Centre is a charitable organization providing early intervention and education for Hong Kong’s developmentally delayed children between the ages of birth and six. Founded in 1983, Watchdog’s curriculum is centered on the assessment and monitoring of six key development areas in young children: fine motor, gross motor, cognitive, adaptive, social-communication and social. Watchdog runs separate programmes for both English and Cantonese speaking children and their families. Watchdog’s services are provided by 26 staff members, highly qualified therapists and early interventionists who are professionally trained in fields associated with special education, early childhood education and psychology.
Watchdog Services Programme
Our programme objectives address the needs of our children and their families. Our goal is to teach children with special needs, to advise and train their parents in supporting and meeting developmental goals and to provide opportunities for these challenged children to develop in all areas at their earliest possible age. The Centre strives to prepare its student population, wherever possible, for early entry into the regular school system. Watchdog also serves as an information provider to the community about the importance of early intervention and education for children with special needs.
Our Children
The diagnoses of our children include autism spectrum disorder, global development delays, speech and language delays, Down Syndrome, cerebral palsy and hyperactivity disorders.
